There’s a massive demand in Oklahoma for trimmers, harvesters, packagers, extractors, kitchen aids, and budtenders for the hemp and marijuana industry production. For some, this could be a fresh start in a rewarding new career. However, with the lack of appropriate information out there many people are asking us, “How can I work with weed in Oklahoma?” While it may seem like a straightforward question, it’s relatively tricky to find the correct information. We decided to write a full blog about how you can quickly get started at the job of your dreams.

So what do you need to get started? Check out this list:

  • A complete background check that covers criminal history is necessary. This is because businesses registered with OBNDD cannot, ” … knowingly employ as an agent or employee any person who will have access to controlled dangerous substances if such person has been convicted, pled guilty or nolo contendere or otherwise ordered to complete a period of probation or supervision for a misdemeanor or felony relating to any controlled dangerous substances as defined by the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Act in this state, any other state, or the United States, or any person convicted, pled guilty or nolo contendere or otherwise ordered to complete a period of probation or supervision for any felony of this state, any other state, or the United States … ” To confirm that you qualify,  at Hemp Temps, we’ll ask you to get a background check with CBadge in order to work with us.
  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You don’t need to be a resident of Oklahoma to work with weed there. The only reason we mention this is because it’s a very real regulation in other legal states.

Oklahoma is relatively relaxed with their regulations. For instance, in Colorado, you must obtain a MED Employee License and Badge. Those that have this badge must wear it at all times while working with cannabis in Colorado. We’re taking this idea and running with it! For Oklahomans, every person hired by us will get a Hemp Temps lanyard and CBadge. We’ll ask that you to wear these while working with cannabis at all times (and they must be visible) to show our clients you’ve obtained a background check and that you’re legally allowed to work. Plus, it’ll show who you work for, and you can represent us! When you confirm with us that you’ve ordered your CBadge, we’ll give you access to our video library for free!

At Hemp Temps, we’re trying to help give you a leg up in the cannabis industry. It doesn’t matter if you have zero experience because we offer courses that will help you succeed. If you already have some experience, great! Let’s get you a job; submit your resume here.
