Hemp Temps was founded in Colorado in 2013, at the beginning of the state's regulated cannabis market. The problem was obvious from day one: cannabis businesses were growing fast, but the tools to hire compliantly were nowhere. General staffing agencies did not understand the regulatory environment. Background checks were not calibrated for cannabis. Nobody was tracking state badge requirements, METRC compliance, or the specific skills that cannabis operations actually needed.

We built Hemp Temps to solve that problem — not as a side project, but as a dedicated, cannabis-only operation from the start. That decision has defined everything we do. Our background check process is built around cannabis licensing requirements. Our training program (Hemp Temps University) teaches workers cannabis-specific safety and compliance from day one. Our employer-of-record model eliminates the compliance liability that comes with direct hiring in a federally restricted industry.

Since 2013, we have delivered more than 1 million staffing hours across dispensaries, cultivation facilities, extraction labs, and manufacturing operations. We have placed workers in more than 10,000 cannabis businesses. We have expanded from Colorado into Michigan, Oklahoma, and New Mexico — following the markets where our clients need us most.
