Cannabis Trimmer Staffing

Hemp Temps maintains a large pre-screened pool of cannabis trimmers and harvest workers. Whether you need one trimmer for a weekend or a team of 20 for harvest season, we fill the request fast.

Cannabis Trimmer Staffing — What We Provide

Trimming and harvest support is one of the highest-volume staffing needs in cannabis. Harvest cycles create sudden demand spikes — and most in-house teams cannot absorb that volume without temporary labor. Hemp Temps maintains a deep bench of pre-screened trimmers available for same-day or next-day deployment.

Our trimmers are background-checked, compliance-cleared, and experienced with both wet and dry trimming. We serve both dispensary in-house cultivation operations and standalone cultivation facilities across all four of our active states. Michigan's outdoor harvest season is a particular specialty — we run large trimming crews across Michigan each fall.

Seasonal Surge Capacity

Outdoor and greenhouse grows create concentrated harvest demand. Hemp Temps pre-builds trimming crews before harvest season so you can request 5 or 50 workers on short notice. We advise clients in Michigan and Colorado to contact us 2–3 weeks before anticipated harvest to reserve capacity during peak season.

Trimmer Pay Range

Cannabis trimmers placed by Hemp Temps typically range from $15–$20/hr depending on state, experience, and volume. No hidden fees — background checks and training are included in our all-in billing rate.

How Trimmer Staffing Works

Tell us your headcount, your dates, and whether the work is wet trim, dry trim, or full harvest support. Hemp Temps pulls from a pre-built bench of background-checked trimmers in your market — 5 workers or 50 — and confirms the crew, usually within 24 hours for standing requests. During Michigan and Colorado peak harvest we recommend reserving capacity 2–3 weeks ahead; crews book out fast in October.

Every trimmer is a W-2 employee of Hemp Temps: we carry payroll, employment taxes, and workers' comp, and you approve hours in the app. Billing is the trimmer's pay plus a 43% all-in fee (30% admin, 10% placement, 3% processing) — background checks and compliance training included, no setup fees, no contract minimums, and no buyout fee if you convert a standout trimmer to your own payroll. Trimmer Staffing FAQ

How much does it cost to hire cannabis trimmers?

Trimmers placed by Hemp Temps typically earn $15–$20/hr depending on state, experience, and volume. You pay that rate plus a 43% all-in fee covering payroll, employment taxes, workers’ comp, background checks, and compliance training — no setup fees or per-worker screening charges, even for large seasonal crews.

How many trimmers can Hemp Temps supply for harvest?

Hemp Temps pre-builds trimming crews before each harvest season and can field crews from 5 to 50+ workers on short notice. Michigan’s outdoor fall harvest is a specialty — Hemp Temps runs large trimming crews across Michigan every fall. For peak-season starts, reserve capacity 2–3 weeks before your anticipated harvest date.

Do Hemp Temps trimmers have wet and dry trim experience?

Yes. Placed trimmers are experienced with wet trimming, dry trimming, bucking and de-stemming, sorting and grading, and cure-room support. Crews serve both dispensary-attached grows and standalone cultivation facilities in Colorado, Michigan, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

What happens if a trimmer doesn’t show up or isn’t working out?

Contact Hemp Temps and we replace the worker — that is the point of using a staffing agency for harvest labor. Because we maintain a deep local bench, replacements typically arrive within a day, and you only pay for hours actually worked and approved in the app.

Do I need trimming experience to get trimming jobs with Hemp Temps?

No — trimming is the most common entry-level path into the cannabis industry, and most crews accept first-timers who pass a background check and complete free Hemp Temps University training. Experienced trimmers earn toward the top of the $15–$20/hr range and are prioritized for lead roles.
